    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion Месяц назад

      So, this'll only pertain to high school level sports and I am assuming you'll need media passes and such for any collegiate events. For high school events, I contact the athletic director of that school first before taking any sort of reserved slot signups. Once I get the okay from them to attend, I then incorporate the signups. I only had one school out of the many I've photographed at deny me. As long as you are professional about it, they are pretty easy going to grant you access.

      GoPro all the way, Flash! I use a GoPro 12 with the Max Lens Mod. The Max Lens Mod allows your orientation to stay the same no matter how much you rotate the camera. It's pretty sweet for content like this where you photograph in portrait and landscape modes but the GoPro stays landscape.

    New A1mark II = A9 III + more megapixels + better video capabilites. I am 99,5% sure. PS: PROBABLY (guess) new processor and sensor. So... Everything after Sony A1 mark II will use it's processors.. like A7-V, A7-R6 (if will be) etc.

      @FatalOnion Месяц назад

      I am quite excited for the a1ii... Whenever it'll be released that as. I can imagine it'll be quite pricey but I'll certainly be eyeing it up! I could only imagine an A1 combined with the A9iii specs and how incredible of a camera it'd be.

    • @pentagramyt417
      @pentagramyt417 Месяц назад

      @@FatalOnion I am wondering the price.. 1) A1 will go down for like 1,000 $ (?) 2) option 2: A1 will drop a little or none, and A1 mark II will be HORRIFIC at the price, like 10.000 $ (A1 in my country is literally 8.000 $ equivalent)

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion Месяц назад

      @@pentagramyt417 I'm thinking the price of the A1 will stay around the 3-5k range for sure as it is still a powerhouse of camera body if the A1ii will be as good as the rumors say. The a1ii could certainly be near the 10k range. Which my pocket will not be a fan of... 😅 Who knows though, maybe it'll be a little lower with some of these technologies becoming more common and such.

      I haven’t tried that one out yet but have heard good things about it. I think the versatility of it would be great for a lot of bright light, daytime sports. However, it would struggle at night time with the lack of f2.8. So, my ISO would need to be cranked up big time. Plus, the stadiums around my area have terrible lighting. There’s only one school out of the 15 I’ve been to that has sustainable lighting. So, that’s something to factor in if you’re deciding what to buy.

      Nothing to update on about this product. It’s been working well with no sign of breaking on me. I do wonder how much the silver interior would change my images but don’t regret going with white. I noticed in other peoples images the silver interiors tend to leave more harsh light on the subject. As I go with a softer, more flattering look, the white interior has my vote. The silver interior could be much more helpful outdoors as it’ll reflect more light. Which, could play a huge role in a decision factor. Thank you for stopping by my videos, Ferdinand!

      @FatalOnion 3 месяца назад

      A poser? Not at all! I picked up my first camera in 2020. Started off with the Sony a6400. I wanted the best of the best quality. So, I hustled to get the best of the best gear to do the job. The way I see it, the gear is expensive but it’s an investment. It’ll pay itself off overtime and it certainly is. Having the best gear certainly gave me the upper hand in quality on my local competition.

      @@FatalOnion okay, I’m sorry for my interpretation. But the (I think) the 400 2.8 is not just for the hobby… my opinion. It’s professional. Like the 24-70 GM II, 70-200 GM II, 12-24 2.8 GM, 90mm macro, etc. But I also have a Q3 for street photography. I don’t have the guts to make a RUclips video 🥳

      Hey, no problem, Vincent! I know I’d probably be turning my head too if I where in your shoes. 😅 pro gear doesn’t define someone as a pro. Which is why I consider myself an amateur as I haven’t had much time in photography like the true professionals. In todays age, the 400 f2.8s have been dropping pretty low with the Sony 300mm dropping. I’ve seen the 400s going for $8500 in fantastic condition. Still a lot of money but certainly doable. Especially, if you sell your 200-600 to go toward it if you’d like to part ways with it. I personally love the lens and the image quality you get out of it paired with the a1 is incredible. No one in my area can replicate the results. If you’re wishing to take a leap and can do it affordably, I’d go for it! I don’t regret my decision on purchasing it last spring. I certainly hurt with cash for awhile but it was worth it. Otherwise, make do with what you got! You got quite the lineup of lenses and that’s something to be proud of.

    Pretty sad how poorly built photography gear is built these days. Due to the lack of accessories with the Westcott I bought a smallrig after watching it's reviews. Junk. The material pulled out from under the ring that holds it before I was able to set it up. Took it apart and placed it back under the ring. Tightened it as tight as it would go. Slid out as soon as I tried to set it up again. Sent it back. This video worries me about buying this Wescott model. 🙄

      After another couple months of use, these are holding up well. I haven’t used the diffusers as of the one ripping. It’s a tough spot to be in. I've been loving the A1 since I saw the results on my first shoot with it. Even sold my A9ii due to the quality this camera gives off. As I am not too keen with other camera brands, I agree this one is certainly up there in the "best" realm. And keep that hope! I've heard they are supposed to release some updates for the body soon... Then again, that's been said for months!

    Should i hold the back-button focus down throughout the time I'm taking the pictures or should i focus once then release and let the "servo" setting take over in order to keep the runner/ player in focus as i photograph him down the track?

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion 5 месяцев назад

      I don’t use back button focus when shooting. I just use the regular shutter focus option. May not be the best idea as I’ve heard a lot of pros using back button focus. Anyway, if you’re focusing on one specific runner, then holding focus on them running down the track would be a good idea. Then, you can get a good sequence of that runner. If you let go of the focus, you may miss that shot you’re aiming for. I know that’s happened to me plenty of times where I let go and it locks on to the track instead of the runners or it locks onto someone in the backfield, etc. you can obviously play around with whichever button focus layout you’d like and judge which method you prefer. I hope that helps answer your question!

      @@FatalOnion I love retro stuff. It has a flare that others don’t, but the downside are the digital glitches, because I don’t think there’s a way to work out the bugs, is there? ie: yesterday, I bought clothes for an adopted child, gave it to him, and the clothing disappeared. Invisible. Same when I was defeating an enemy, the game glitched, and I swung him, he had a full life bar all of a sudden. Other than those little moments, love old school Skyrim. Any suggestions on those glitches? I’m almost afraid my xbox is about to quit on me, I’d be really sad to lose my saved progress. Hey Andres, I haven’t done anything with it yet as I feel it’s probably past warranty and I forgot about it. If you’re handy with a needle and thread, it could be an easy fix. For all I know, it could’ve been user error or just a one off but it still is slightly frustrating having a torn item on the first use.

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion 7 месяцев назад

      Hello Luis! When I first started out, I never really "created" a type of business. I didn't want to overwhelm myself with the business side of things at the start with forming a legitimate business if photography never went anywhere. Now that I am closing in on my first full year of photography work, I am highly considering forming an LLC over me technically being a sole proprietor as my business is earning much more than when I first started out. Hope that helps!

    Great Tip! I have a couple of question. Do you need to get permission from the school to be able to photograph the games? Are you on the field to capture the photos? Final question, how do you navigate with the school photographer? Thanks, Leo

    • @FatalOnion
      @FatalOnion 9 месяцев назад

      Hello Leo! 1. You should get approval from the Athletic Director for photographing the school's sporting event. If you photograph football or any sport from a team's sideline, its a good idea to ask the coach as well if you are able to sit on their sideline. In my area, every school I've asked other than one has given me the okay to cover events at their school. The other school was in a contract with a different photographer. 2. I am typically as close I can be to the action as possible. For football, I am right on the sideline. Basketball, I am right on the edge of the court. Same for volleyball and any other sport. As mentioned above, it doesn't hurt to ask for approval from the coaches if you'd like to stay on their sideline. 3. School photographers aren't present at most of my schools I photograph at as our budgets aren't like schools in bigger areas. There are yearbook photographers around from time to time. When they are, we both respect each other and try to stay out of each other's ways. I've only had a bad interaction when I first started off, a yearbook photographer got upset at me for getting in his shot. I thought he was going to get me kicked out of the event. When there is a special event going on like homecoming, parents night, senior night, etc. and someone is hired specifically to capture those moments like the walkout, stand still for a photo, and a group photo, I usually put my camera down and let the person hired cover those moments. I don't want to steal the spotlight from them when that is their job. The only time I will photograph someone in this moment is if it's one of my Athlete Coverage/focused athlete signups. Hope that helps, Leo! Thank you for stopping by the video.
